Hi I'm Neil Mehrtens, founder of Ethos. I live and work in Devon.

I live in Paignton with my family, my wife and two boys.

I have a lifelong passion for fitness and over 15 year's experience in commercial gyms, private corporate clientele and Royal Marines Commando Training. Add to this a wealth of nutritional knowledge and a passion for improving your lifestyle, I make sure you are well and truly looked after.

I am also a keen national level Powerlifter for GBPF (Great British Power Lifting) and have competed at national level (2019).

I also enjoy road cycling the hills of Devon. I have recently (September 2022) completed the Lands End to John O' Grote's (LEJOG) effort across the country, raising money for Macmillon cancer research.

One of the key fundamentals is that intelligent exercise prescription and correct form is always used, and I bring this ETHOS to every one of my clients.

You can do anything you put your mind to with the correct application and mindset.

My goal is to motivate you to achieve a sustainable new lifestyle (a whole new ETHOS) of exercise underpinned by a healthy diet, so that eventually you will not need my help and can continue progressing on your own.

Following five years as a Personal Trainer in a local gym, I spent ten years in HM Royal Marines, completing two tours of Afghanistan and one of both Iraq and Somalia. An injury sustained in Afghanistan led to my eventual medical discharge and extensive physical rehab, an experience which inspired me to start my own Personal Training business.

''Too often I see people focusing solely on physical training. Health and fitness is not only about exercise''

I can offer you some great advice to make you not only physically stronger but mentally stronger, with proper nutrition, diet and lifestyle advice.
